Political mini Project about climate change I made with Flora. A lot of it is stop motion animation, some from magazine cutouts and some made with photoshop. We wanted to use humour to tackle this important issue and so our first idea was that of Greta Thunberg and Trump having a boxing match. We kind of built the rest of the film around that. Here are some quick sketches I did to develop our idea:

Flora had the idea of Trump running past our window and I thought it would be funny if he was running away from a climate change related disaster. I also thought then that the sequences before could all be what we are watching on our laptop, sort of like us watching the news. We see all the bad things happening in the world and the watch people fight about it, (Greta representing young people fighting for the climate and Trump representing all world leaders and businessmen who believe it is a hoax (for money and political reasons mainly)

Because my room is on the second floor we couldn’t have him running past but I thought it would be funny if we had him rising past on the rising sea level. The music is the troll song, and is meant to beg the question, at what point will people believe in climate change? Even as disasters are happening all over the world people still manage to ignore it and believe in something else.
