MEDIA COMPOSER FINAL

Random notes from before:

 I PASSED BOTH EXAMS

New deadline

I will be editing the film, not the kung fu material

NEW new deadlines, I will be editing Kung Fu material

19/02/21

In the end we didn´t even have to do blog posts for the media composer brief, but I thought I might as well at least link the video here. We only had to submit our certificate that we past the exams and the video.
I used the kung fu material to create a horror trailer sort of thing. I thought I did quite well in the time we had, and seeing that I did it just from home. The king fu material was hard to make a story with, as it´s all just one guy, doing kung fu. There was no dialogue, no other people and not much of a change of location or style. That made it harder to achieve what I wanted but I was happy with the result anyway. It also didnt have any sound so I had to completely create the audio myself. I was happy with how that turned out as well.
I coulnd´t do it on Media composer, which is a shame as the point was to practice it. I tried opening it for about an hour and after I finally got it open it wouldn't let me add videos to it. I must have downloaded at least five different plug ins, hoping that would solve the problem but it never did. It was really annoying. Not everyone even has media composer though, so it was an option for us to use a different software. I used premiere which I´m already quite familiar with.

Here´s some screenshots from the progress:

I actually ended up making the video even a little bit darker than in these screenshots. After I exported the first version, I decided the colour wasnt dramatic enough, it all looked too normal.

I ended up using quite a lot of sounds, some which I had before, some I got from soundsnap. We now have a free subscription to soundsnap, provided by our uni.

The final edit:

It was good fun to make.
