Julias film

A mood board I made for Julia

Julia asked me to be production designer for her short film after she heard I was interested in it. She sent me the script draft she had and I thought it sounded great. She’s written a great short comedy that made me immediately think of bright primary colours. Mainly she will have cheesy birthday decorations in an old people home.

Read through of script to find all the props we need:

Happy birthday charlie banner- have a rad and funky 21st red white and blue

Party finger foods

Glass of water

Birthday boy pin

Cheesy decorations

Two stews, baskets of bread rolls

Brownie box (Tupperware)

Squash on table

Family photos

Happy birthday bowls for stew

Birthday tablecloth

Cards against humanity on side table?

RAF cake

Sofa, blanket and hot water bottle, grandparenty

China plate on mantelpiece

Kevs backpack- toiletries from Rachel, Jean´s plate

Rachel´s bathroom, girl bathroom, marks of things that used to be there, weirdly empty, toilet seat closed but toilet paper hanging from lid, fake poop

Lucazade

Tupperware with brownies,

Backpack

Vape

Business card for Kev, soundcloud details, DJ Kev, indesign and print at uni

BnB for location

Claudia (who is the art director) and I stopped by poundland to see if they had any cheap, good birthday decorations which they did. We showed some of the pictures with Julia too, and she seemed happy with it. They were all a pound so not much of the budget will go towards them. We can pick them up sometime nearer the date.

I particularly liked the plates :)))

Claudia and I made some mood boards for the film. Here´s the ones I did:

Rachels bedroom and bathroom
colours from friday night dinner

Charlies bday party

Julia also asked me to make a casting call poster so I did this:

Claudia worked more on the budgeting, I helped a bit.
